XRP Near $1.41 as Leverage and Futures Activity Surge
  • XRP leverage ratio on Binance hit 0.213 with slowing weekly gains and an increase in longs.
  • XRP rallied 40.51% in a week to $1.41 with volumes falling 32.53% to $4.11 billion in a day.
  • XRP is trading above the 200-day EMA of $1.3483 amid cooling RSI and seven-month Binance leverage.

XRP leverage ratio data on Binance has reached its highest level in more than seven months as XRP’s strong weekly rally begins to cool. XRP rose 40.51% over the past week to $1.41, while its market capitalization declined 3.85% to $88.75 billion and 24-hour trading volume fell 32.53% to $4.11 billion.

The increase in leverage followed a sharp price advance from a consolidation base near $0.98, with XRP reaching a peak near $1.70 before pulling back.

CryptoQuant flagged the rise in Binance’s estimated leverage ratio on August 26, with analyst Arab Chain reporting a reading of approximately 0.213.

XRP Leverage Ratio Climbs to 0.213

The XRP leverage ratio on Binance had remained between 0.13 and 0.19 through most of 2026. The reading followed a deleveraging cycle in late 2025, when the metric reached approximately 0.59 before falling by roughly 78%. The move above 0.20 therefore represents the first significant increase in the ratio during 2026 based on the provided data.

The latest reading of approximately 0.213 coincided with a 44% weekly XRP rally cited by CryptoQuant and renewed activity in the derivatives market.

The increase occurred as XRP’s spot price began moving lower from its recent peak, creating a divergence between the recent price performance and rising leveraged exposure.

Derivatives activity also increased substantially. XRP futures volume reached roughly $6.4 billion over 24 hours, compared with approximately $1.2 billion in spot trading volume. Open interest stood near $3.45 billion.

On Binance, approximately two accounts were long for every one short, while the ratio among top traders was closer to three long positions for every short position.

XRP Technical Structure Remains Above Major Averages

XRP’s daily chart shows a sharp breakout from a multi-month decline after price consolidated around the $0.98 area. The subsequent advance moved through several resistance zones before XRP reached a high near the 4.236 Fibonacci extension at $1.7362.

At the time of the latest data, XRP was trading around $1.4117, down 1.58%, and was positioned near the 2.618 Fibonacci retracement level at $1.4502.The upper Bollinger Band value was $1.5715 as a result of higher volatility after the price surge.

The simple moving average value for 20 periods was $1.1634 while the Fibonacci value at the 1.618 level was $1.2734. These values were both lower than the current price.

The daily chart also showed XRP trading above several major exponential moving averages. The 200-day EMA stood at $1.3483, followed by the 100-day EMA at $1.1903, the 50-day EMA at $1.1629, and the 20-day EMA at $1.2385. XRP was trading above each of these levels after reaching a peak near $1.70.

The Relative Strength Index had cooled to 70.80 after previously moving above 75. The decline in RSI came alongside the recent price pullback. A move below the 200-day EMA at $1.3483 would place dynamic support near $1.23 among the levels identified in the technical data.

Binance Leverage Increase Adds to Derivatives Activity

Binance increased the maximum leverage available for XRP and RLUSD from 5x to 10x effective August 21. The change placed XRP in the same high-liquidity leverage category as BNB, SOL, ADA, and DOGE.

The timing preceded the rise in Binance’s XRP leverage ratio to approximately 0.213. The increase in available leverage occurred only days before the metric reached its seven-month high.

The derivatives market also showed a substantially larger futures market than spot market during the reported period. With approximately $6.4 billion in futures volume against $1.2 billion in spot volume, derivatives activity represented a significant portion of XRP trading activity in the period covered by the data.

The positioning figures showed that long exposure was higher than short exposure. Approximately two Binance accounts were long for every short account, while top traders recorded a ratio closer to three longs for every short.

XRP Price Rally Faces Short-Term Cooling

XRP’s weekly gain remained at 40.51% despite the recent decline from its peak. The market capitalization fell to $88.75 billion, and 24-hour trading volume dropped to $4.11 billion.

The technical data showed XRP above its major moving averages, while the RSI remained around 70.80 after cooling from higher levels. Price was also near the $1.4502 Fibonacci reference level and above the $1.3483 200-day EMA.

The combination of higher derivatives leverage, elevated long positioning and a recent price pullback places the Binance leverage ratio at the center of the latest XRP market data. The ratio’s move to approximately 0.213 marks its highest reported level since January, while futures open interest remained near $3.45 billion.
