However, the momentum weakened at the start of September as selling pressure pushed Bitcoin below $77,000 and U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $236.46 million in net outflows on Tuesday. Bitcoin is currently trading around $76,606.65 and is down 2.49% over the past week.
Bitcoin ETF Inflows Reverse Earlier Outflow Trend
Bitcoin ETF inflows in August significantly changed the flow picture for the year. The funds recorded $3.52 billion in net inflows, compared with just $172 million in July, according to SoSoValue data. September Begins With Bitcoin ETF Outflows
The strong Bitcoin ETF inflows recorded throughout August did not continue into the opening sessions of September. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $236.46 million in net outflows on Tuesday, reversing the $216.70 million in net inflows recorded on Monday.
The Tuesday withdrawal was the largest daily outflow since July 31, when the funds recorded $265.37 million in net outflows.
The change in ETF flows occurred as Bitcoin briefly fell below $77,000 after trading above $80,000 late in August. BTC subsequently remained around the $76,000 level, with the price trading below its recent peak.
Ether and XRP ETFs Maintain Positive Flows
While Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows on Tuesday, spot Ether and XRP ETFs remained positive.
Spot Ether ETFs had net inflows of around $11 million on Tuesday, while spot XRP ETFs had net inflows of $14.4 million. However, August also put Ether ETFs in the positive zone for the year 2026. Their year-to-date net inflows reached $732 million after the funds ended July with approximately $1.12 billion in net outflows.
XRP ETFs recorded $502 million in year-to-date net inflows, compared with $343 million at the end of July. The figure represents an increase of about 46% from the end of July.
The latest ETF figures therefore show different flow trends across the three assets as September begins, while Bitcoin remains below its late-August peak.
